Because of the high elevation, most of the central and western parts of Tibet are deserted. Nyingchi, the eastern part of Tibet, which borders Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces, has the most stunning sceneries of the mountains, virgin forests (Lulang Forest), and lakes (Pagsum Co).
Every March and April, Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival is one of the most famous travel festivals in China and the best time to visit Nyingchi.
For luxury adventurers, the overland tour from Shangri-La to Lhasa with Songtsam hotels passing Nyingchi is the most recommendable. The best hotel in the city is the Hilton Linzhi Resort.
Nyingchi tourist attractions

Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival
Every March and April, Nyingchi peach blossom has always been the most popular spot, and it is also the biggest reason for attracting many tourists. The peach blossoms are different from the peach blossoms in the south of China. The peach trees here are generally taller, and the flowers bloom more intensely. Several viewpoints in the area are perfect for photographers.

Lulang Forest
Lulang Forest has a large number of birds inhabiting here. Every year from mid-April to early June, thousands of wild flowers bloom in competition. Clouds and mists in the mountains gather and disperse. Snow-capped mountains, forests, cloud seas, and pastoral areas form a quiet and beautiful “mountain residence”.

Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon
Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon is the world’s largest canyon, a natural geological museum, a paradise for animals and plants, and a holy place for original ecological and humanistic experience. The scenic area has rich and diverse viewing and photography angles, which is the best place to watch Nanga Bawa Peak. From mid-to-late March to early May each year, the century-old peach blossoms in the scenic area are splendid, and early May and early October are the best hiking seasons.

Pagsum Co (Dragsum Tsho)
Every year on April 15 of the Tibetan calendar, that is, around June 1, many locals come to the lake as pilgrims. There is Tashi Island in the heart of the lake, which can be reached by sightseeing yacht. The Tsozong Gongba Temple on the island is a famous Red Sect temple in Tibet. There are wood carvings of male and female genitals on the left and right sides of the door. The god of reproduction is the patron saint of the residents of the area and protects the health of themselves and their families.

Yanjing Salt Field
The salt field is a pure land full of magic and spirituality. Within the territory, there are many snow-capped mountains, rivers crisscrossing, and virgin forests. The ancient tea-horse road enters Tibet from here. There are more than 3,200 salt pans built on the upper layers of the cliffs on the east and west banks of the Lancang River, with an annual output of several million catties.
Here you can watch the whole process of hand-made salt, and you can also see the unique and primitive production tools.
